We are very proud that several of our regular girls have gone onto appear in  various TV shows (some even filmed here at Essex Photo Studio), in lads mags, on Page 3 and in womens magazines such as Closer, and National press such as The Sun and The Daily Star!

Ellie Redman

Ellie appeared on Series 2 of The Only Way Is Essex, where she created the famous phrase ‘No Carbs Before Marbs’. She has since gone onto to be the face of many brands and also launched her own fitness business. The No Carbs Before Marbs Bootcamp encourages its clients to lead a healthy lifestyle  the essex way! Ellie is about to film her new TV show based around her fabulous lifestyle and business ventures. She is also launching the official No Carbs Before Marbs clothing range in June!

Sian 

Sian has appeared on Page 3 and has shot with top lads mag Zoo on several occassions now. She has also recently qualified from the London College of Fashion as a Make-up Artist. So she is not only gorgeous, she is talented too!

Kassi

Kassi was only very recently taken on by Jello Management, however she has already modelled for an international brand. You will be seeing her on billboards throughout Europe this summer!

Abbie

Abbie has appeared in various lads mags, on BBC 3 show Snog, Marry, Avoid, was in the top 12 of Page 3 Idol and is the star of new ITV2 show My Essex Girls! 

Top Comedian Jack Whitehall has a new show being aired in January 2012 titled ‘Hit the Road Jack’.

The Magnum Media production for Channel 4 came to Essex Photo Studio for a day of filming. Jack Whitehall directed 3 Jello Management models in a photoshoot and the clips will be aired when the show goes out.

Applicants are being invited to meet the judges at The Essex Photo Studio, where they will be given the chance to wow with a mini photoshoot and informal interview.

The casting doors are open from 11am until 2pm on Saturday 28th May 2011. All applicants are requested to attend with natural make-up, wearing something that best shows off their figure, to take a bikini or simple lingerie set and be prepared to meet the people who could potentially change their life.

Before Essex Photo Studio officially opened to the public we needed to ensure it was up to scratch so we invited the very talented photographer Simon Price to test out the facilities. Simon chose to bring the stunning model Jess Impiazzi to the studio.

Since Jess’s visit to Essex Photo Studio she has been anounced as Zoo magazines Girl of 2011! She will be gracing the pages of Zoo regularly throughout the year. Jess really deserves it too! She is not only a naturally stunning girl, but a delight to work with. She made both Natasha Worby’s job as make-up artist and Simon’s job very very easy. A truly talented model.

We suggest you keep your eyes on Jess as we feel she is going to be a huge success in 2011. The girl is a born superstar!

The Essex Photo Studio can not only give you a studio to work from we can also provide you with a professional styling team, model and even do your retouching! We are more than just a hire studio. Visited Studio on 28th November for a shoot and is back again on 14th and 17th December

The buildings interior needed a massive overhaul in order to be fit for photoshoot and in order to be ready to be a fully operational and working studio for hire. The premises were previously occupied by a print company, therefore the decor was grubby, lacklustre and very outdated. The 3 areas which are now the reception, hair and make-up room and dressing room had horrible wood-chip wallpaper on the walls, grubby stained carpet on the floors and was generally in need of a good clean. The room which is now a bedroom set was not much different. The bathroom somewhat resembled a high school boys toilet. It was extremely grubby, with stained pale blue walls and the kitchen was also very dirty. Nothing a good clean and a lick of paint couldn’t clean.

Before I took on the studio I insisted that certain works were carried out prior to getting the keys. There was some damp in the hair and make-up room which desperately needed dealing with. It was a health and safety hazard. After having the buildings structure checked we found that there was a leak in the roof. I insisted the roof was fixed and any gaps in tiles repaired and sealed, all guttering cleared, the interior walls were to have the damp stripped out – meaning taking out the plaster that was affected the area dried our and then re-plastered. In the main studio area there were unnecessary wires hanging from walls and an unused doorway into the building next door. The wires needed to be addressed and removed or channelled into the wall and the door way needed to be completely and securely blocked in for security reasons. I needed to have assurance that all electrics and gas appliances were safe so requested an electricity and gas inspection were carried out. This all needed doing before I even stepped foot into the place!

The “making pretty” of the studio was the fun part, albeit a little stressful at times. We started work on the kitchen and bathroom first. A good clean prior to the kitchen being painted in a bright white to freshen it up. The bathroom took inspiration from the late great Andy Warhol. With bright turquoise, pinks and yellows all used to compliment each other and brighten up the space. the cupboards are always fully stocked with a variety of herbal and regular teas, coffee and hot chocolate, not to mention the abundance of biscuits! The bathroom is fully stocked with toiletries and emergency items for our female visitors. We like to make sure our photographers, models and creatives are all looked after well.

The Essex Photo Studio needed a nice reception area in order to greet our clients when they arrive to hire the studio or to be part of a photoshoot. The wood chip walls were smoothed over and painted in a shades of luxurious purple with the vile carpet replaced by oak flooring. A small corridor was put in along with an archway from the hair and make-up room to the dressing room in order to allow clients the ability to move from hair and make-up via the dressing room and into the main studio discretely and privately.

The main area is also vastly different. Due to the extremely high ceilings I felt it was ideal to get an infinity curve put in. So a 2 wall, corner curve takes up one large area. It is a brilliant white and able to bounce light around to give the most amazing high-key look to photographs. Whilst the curve was being painted the rest of the area was painted and sectioned off to create a couple of set areas. The ugly windows have been dressed with luxury curtains and blackout blinds. Alongside the curve was the perfect place for the Colorama supports to go. And next to that is a great space for interchangeable backdrops and a smooth white wall for leaning against.

Along the other side of the studio space a redundant space was converted into the bedroom set, using bright vintage Laura Ashley wallpaper. Beside the double doors, which is used for disabled access and access for motorcycles and large props, was another space which was not being used. It now contains a damask wallpaper and wooden floor. The other side of the area was a wall wide enough to create another set. This has become the “outdoors” set. A deconstructed brick wall with concrete flooring. As it is right by a large window it will mean you can use natural light or studio light to enhance the image. The large window areas are dressed with a luxurious brown/bronze damask curtain and blackout blind and the second area with a rich red silk curtain and blackout blinds. To the far end is the american diner set. A bright red back wall with vintage metal signs, checkered flooring and a retro diner set. A great fun set.

I am currently awaiting the images of the studio prior to any renovations being undertaken, as soon as they arrive I will add them to the blog.

The Essex Photo Studio has gone from an extremely ugly duckling into a modern, high specification and professional studio for hire in under 3 months. It is now ready to open its doors for photoshoots. So far we have held 4 photoshoots, with another 4 booked in before the end of 2010. Not a bad start for a new photo studio.

Sunday 28th November

Blushing Boudoir recently set out to find the “Face” of the business. We did not want a stereotypical model, we wanted someone that our brides can relate to, a real woman if you like.

After Working With Angel Sinclair of Sinclair Management and Models of Diversity on a previous photoshoot, it made sense to ask Angel if any of her diverse models would be keen on the idea. Models of Diversity are set to change to face of the modelling and fashion industry by demanding that all women get equal representation regardless of race, dress size, ability, age and shape. Angels Models of Diversity campaign has ambassadors for Models of Colour, Plus size, Mature women, Teen models, models of disability, and much more. This is why we felt it was the perfect fit to our business.

Blushing Boudoir is aimed towards real women, real brides so having a “real” women as our poster girl was the only way for us to go. We received a HUGE response from the casting and decided to go with 2 of Angels team. Fabia Cerra, Ambassador for Plus Size Models, and Leonie Sherif, Ambassador for Models of Colour. As well as Models of Diversity a good friend of mine stepped in to help out with the photoshoot. Sarah Pinder is a primary school teacher and a dance teacher who has a love of modelling, and boy can she pose! The women were outstanding. Each of them brought something different to the shoot.

The shoot tok place at Blushing Boudoir’s Essex Photo Studio. Our fantastic photographer, Emma-Rose Flewers, was on hand to capture the beauty of all 3 women. Whilst Emma was setting up the studio with Laura Knight, another great female photographer, I prepped the models for their shoot by giving them their make-overs. The aim was to bring out each of the models natural beauty by emphasising their best features and to make the women feel fabulous.

First to be made over was Sarah. We decided to opt for a natural yet sexy look for sarah, with her sensual curves – which are all in the right places! – great blue/green eyes and a pout that a few women would pay a lot of money for it seemed fitting to give Sarah a Marilyn Monroe style makeover (especially as we had a Monroe wig in the studio!). Once Sarah’s fluttery eyelashes had been applied and her make-up finished it was on with the wig and first outfit then straight onto the set for her superstar photoshoot.

Whilst Sarah was striking her best poses for Emma and Laura the make-up chair was being kept warm by the Lovely Leonie Sherif. The Ambassador for Models of Colour was a delight to work with. A sweet, honest, lovely young woman with a stunning face and amazing features. Leonie made making her over very easy. She really is a natural beauty and did not need much make-up at all. Her skin was gorgeously clear, she needed nothing more than a light sweep of foundation to even her skin tone out slightly. Her pretty eyes were emphasised and her shapely lips were made to “pop”. Then she slipped into a luscious pin-up style velvet lingerie set and got straight to work like a true pro.

Our final model of the day was Fabia Cerra. Fabia is a beautiful woman, inside and out. Her charisma was uplifting, making the whole team smile and instantly warm to her. Some of you may recognise Fabia from her appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, where she performed a fantastic burlesque dance and completely wowed the judges. She has gone from strength to strength within her burlesque career and her modelling career seems to be going the same way. Fabia is an inspiration to many women, not just plus sized ladies but mothers, dancers and real women in general.

The day was a massive success and the delivery of the most delicious cupcakes, supplied by Heavenleigh Cupcakes, at lunchtime kept everyone chirpy. We could not be more pleased with Emma and Laura’s photography work and the models amazing talent and dedication to the shoot. I would recommend every single person on the team to anyone who asks. Blushing Boudoir is delighted to have been able to work with Sinclair Management and Models of Diversity on this project, we are in full support of Angel’s campaign and know it is going to make a massive change in the fashion industry.
